The York University Lions women's soccer team faces a stiff test on Thursday evening when the squad welcomes the McMaster Marauders to Alumni Field as part of the annual Frosh Frenzy night.

The two squads split their season series last year with the road team winning each time. The Lions won the first match-up 1-0 thanks to a goal by
Jessica Lush just six minutes into the contest, and then the Marauders got the best of the Lions by the same score three weeks later thanks to a goal by Carling Goold.
The two teams will face each other one more time this season, on Wednesday, Oct. 2 when the Lions travel to Hamilton, Ont., for a 6pm game at Ron Joyce Stadium.

- The Marauders had their best season in 21 years in 2018, winning the OUA bronze medal and finishing in fourth place at the U SPORTS tournament. The magical playoff run came after a fourth-place finish in the regular season with an 8-3-5 record.

Kalifornia Mitchell – The reigning OUA West rookie of the year after a dominant freshman campaign with the Lions. She was also an OUA West first-team all-star and a U SPORTS all-rookie team member after scoring four goals in her first season.

Teni Odetoyinbo – Earned OUA West first-team all-star honours as a sophomore defender last year after starting all 16 games at centre back.
McMaster
S Stephanie Roberts – An OUA first-team all-star and conference leading scorer last year (14 goals), she already has two goals this season.
M Hannah Chau-Stacey – McMaster's female athlete of the week after two strong performances last weekend, including scoring a highlight-reel goal in a 2-1 win over Laurier.
