York University's top academic undergraduate student-athletes were honoured on Wednesday afternoon by the Athletics & Recreation Department.
 
The student-athletes were recognized for their achievements in the classroom during the 2019-20 academic year. Academic all-Canadians awards are given to U SPORTS student-athletes who achieve a sessional grade point average of 7.5 and higher, while Ontario University Athletics (OUA) achievement awards are for student-athletes on OUA teams who have earned the same GPA.
 
The Lions had six student-athletes achieve a perfect 9.0 grade point average: track and field standouts Philip Costa, Carmen Krawczynski Gonzalez and Jonathan Raspanti, as well as men's volleyball player Dan Everton, men's tennis player Nikola Janev and field hockey player Sarah Powell.
