The York University Lions men's basketball team lost 108-73 to the Western Mustangs on Saturday in London, Ont.
The Lions waited until the fourth quarter of the game to score the most points in a frame. They surpassed the Mustangs with 25 points and the home team finished behind with 23.
Prince Kamunga finished the quarter with a total of nine points, including a three-pointer, while teammate
Tyler Pryce added six points to the final quarter.
Both Kamunga and Pryce would finish the game as the top scorers for the Lions with 14 and 13 points, respectively.
Kamunga started the first quarter off with a three-pointer and Pryce followed behind with two successful free throws. The Lions finished behind the Mustangs in the opening stanza 34-11.
The second quarter of the game saw the Lions add 15 points to the scoreboard and the Mustangs add 21.
DeAndrae Pierre and
Isaiah Moseley helped the Lions advance in points this quarter.
In the third, York dropped 22 points on the Mustangs, while the home team registered 30. Pierre added five more points for the Lions, including a three-pointer, while
MJ Forbes added four points for York.
Though the Lions were able to give a final push in the fourth, it wasn't enough to take the win against Mustangs, who are the top team in the OUA West standings.
The Lions will be looking to take the win against the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks this Wednesday at the Tait McKenzie Centre in their next contest beginning at 8pm.
