MID-SEASON DOUBLEHEADER CLASH WITH TRENT ON HORIZON FOR LIONS

After a win over RMC last week, the York University Lions women's soccer team will aim to continue their good fortunes in back-to-back showdowns with the Trent Excalibur, first coming Friday night at Alumni Field.

Last Meetings
York and Trent have not been regular opponents in recent years but do play this season due to a divisional realignment that features York joining the OUA East to play a new slate of schools this season, including Ottawa, Carleton, Ontario Tech, RMC and Queen's.

  • After opening their season with two wins, the Excalibur have run into the OUA East's top two teams and dropped both contests in their most recent games. It began with a 5-0 loss to No. 5 Queen's, then another 5-0 loss at the hands of No. 4 Ottawa.
  • Scoring has come from various different players this year, but rookie Violet Hipkin has the team lead with two markers thus far, with one goal in each of their first two games against RMC.
