The York University Lions women's soccer team played a hard-fought game against the Carleton Ravens Friday afternoon, but the game ultimately ended in a 0-0 draw despite excellent chances from both sides.
The draw brings the Lions' record to 5-1-1, behind the Queen's Gaels for second place in the OUA East. They are also tracking down the Ottawa Gee-Gees, who will come to York Lions Stadium for a top-of-the-table match-up later this weekend.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Lions played an excellent game with poised pressure on the home side, but Ravens netminder Chloe Lachance-Soulard proved to be up for the task of the York offence.
- York's unbeaten streak improves to six games with the draw at Carleton.
LOOKING AHEAD
After an undefeated two-game road trip, the Lions will return home to face the University of Ottawa Gee-Gees at Alumni Field on Sunday, Oct. 24 at 1 pm. It's the Lions' second meeting with the Gee-Gees, as they look to secure a win against the OUA East division's top team.
