York University Lions track and field athletes Jeremy Elliott and Olivia Henry were named York male and female athletes of the week, respectively, for the period ending Jan. 22.
 
Elliott, a third-year kinesiology and health science student from Walkerton Ont., had a big weekend in the weight throw at the Don Wright Challenge in London, Ont. He took home a silver medal after launching a personal-best 16.42m in the event.
 
Henry, a fourth-year commerce student from Woodbridge, Ont., also set a personal best at the Fred Foot Classic in Toronto, Ont. Like Elliott, she took home a silver medal, but her's came in the triple jump with an 11.82m leap.
 
The track and field team returns to action this weekend with two separate events — the McGill Team Challenge in Montreal, Que., and across the border at the Hillsdale Open in Geneva, Ohio.
