The York University Lions track and field team will have to wait another day to see their first podium appearance of the 2023 FFUN Motorgroup U SPORTS Track & Field Championships presented by Discover Saskatoon. They placed third in their preliminary heat, and ninth overall, in the women's 4x200m relay Thursday night in Saskatoon, Sask.

York's team, consisting of Kimora Harris, Hilary Ojo, Alanah Broomfield, and Maya Grunys, was taken into third place through Broomfield's portion of the relay, where she brought the Lions into third position. York checked in with a time of 1:44.86, placing ahead of the Waterloo Warriors who had qualified ahead of them by a second. 

The race was the only showing of the day for the Lions, who will turn to the field Friday when the U SPORTS championship resumes at the Saskatoon Field House.
