Shauna graduated from Brock University (BSM '05) and then went on to pursue post-graduate studies: first attaining a Sport Business Management Graduate Certificate from Durham College in June 2006, then moving on to complete a Master of Science and Sports Management from West Virginia University in May 2008. Currently the Manager of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion & Student Experience for the Ontario University Athletics (OUA). Some of her responsibilities include: provide expertise and advice to internal and external community regarding EDI- and Safe Sport related matters and guidance, oversight, and administrative support for Institutions, Coaches, Officials, and Student-Athletes. In addition to her extensive portfolio, Shauna has a passion for volunteering and giving back to the community. Shauna enjoys sharing her time and expertise by sitting on large sporting event organizing committees like the Pan Am Games, Invictus Games, North American Indigenous Games and Ontario ParaSport Games. There is an extensive list of awards to showcase Shauna's passion for volunteer involvement in sport at International/ National / Regional / Local Events. She was named Canada's Top 100 Black Women to Watch 2022, received the prestigious honour of the Governor General Sovereign's Medal for Volunteers (February 2020), the Toronto Sport Hall of Honour – Community Sport Volunteer of the Year (December 2019). In 2019 Shauna was also recognized by the Toronto Raptors and Tangerine Bank for her role as a community sports leader who has inspired, motivated and encouraged positive change in the lives of girls throughout the Greater Toronto Area.
