York University Lions field hockey player Kathryn Carlow and men's soccer player Anthony Morano have been named the latest York athletes of the week for the period ending Sept. 29.

Carlow, a third-year midfielder from Douro-Drummer, Ont., a community just outside Peterborough, scored three goals for the Lions in their two games this weekend, and leads the OUA with six goals through the first four games of the season. The kinesiology & health science student scored the third and fifth goals in York's 6-0 win over McMaster in Saturday's home opener and netted their only tally in a 2-1 loss to Waterloo the following day.

Carlow and the Lions will remain home to host the McGill Martlets in a pair of games this weekend. Saturday's game begins at 4:00 pm, while Sunday's game is an 11:00 am start. Admission to both matches is free.

Morano, a first-year forward from nearby Woodbridge, Ont., scored a hat trick in York's 5-1 win over Western on Monday night, while also adding an assist in their 4-1 win over the Mustangs on Friday night in London. The transfer from Rutgers University netted the team's second hat trick of the season after Marco Sciortino did so on Sept. 12 at Windsor, winning him the York men's athlete of the week honour for the period ending Sept. 14.

Morano and the Lions will host the Brock Badgers on Friday to begin a pivotal two-game series against the team chasing them for first in the OUA West. Friday's game begins at 8:15 pm, while Sunday's begins at 3:15 pm. You can get tickets for Friday's game here or stream both games on OUA.tv.
