York University Lions tennis player Mia Soccio was named an OUA all-star at the conference's tennis championships earlier this month. 

Soccio, a history student who just completed her third year of eligibility, was an instrumental part of the Lions road to the bronze medal game at the championships over Thanksgiving weekend in Markham. The Hamilton native was one of York's top six players that competed in singles and doubles throughout the championships. 

Over the regular season, she went 8-2 over her first four matches, combining singles and doubles competition. That includes victories over Ottawa and Queen's in singles and doubles, and the Waterloo Warriors in singles play. 

Soccio is the first Lions women's payer to be named an OUA all-star since Sara Krupica earned a selection in 2019.
