The York University Lions men's hockey team returns to action this weekend with a pair of matchups in Toronto.
On Saturday at 7:00 pm, the Lions face the Toronto Varsity Blues downtown. This marks the third meeting between the two teams this season; York has split games against the Blues, following a 4-3 regulation loss with a thrilling 4-3 overtime victory.
On Sunday afternoon, the Lions return home to host the Brock Badgers for the sixth annual Mark Cross Memorial Game. York looks to even the season series against Brock after a narrow 3-2 overtime loss earlier this year. The afternoon will honour the life of Mark Cross, a Lions alum who was tragically killed in the 2018 Humboldt Broncos bus crash. The pregame ceremony will include 18 seconds of cheering and a ceremonial puck drop by Mark's parents, Brad and Marilyn. Several former winners of the Mark Cross Heart of a Lion Award will also be in attendance, including Kaleb Dahlgren a former Humbolt Bronco, Derek McVey, Brock McLeod, and Connor Senken.
Saturdays match can be streamed live on OUA TV, while you can get tickets to come out and support the Lions Sunday here HERE.
