QUICK FACTS

York
  • The Lions will face their fourth nationally-ranked opponent in seven games this weekend against the No. 6 Guelph Gryphons. All three of their losses this year have come against ranked opponents, while all three of their wins were against non-ranked teams. The Lions are coming off a thrilling 4-3 comeback, shootout victory over the Waterloo Warriors in their most recent contest.
  • The Lions currently have a goal differential of -3, scoring 11 and allowing 14.

Guelph
  • The Gryphons have earned a point in each of their first four contests, with wins over York, Ryerson and Brock and a shootout loss to Toronto.
  • The Gryphons finished first in the OUA standings last year with a sparkling 21-3-0 record, and wrapped up the regular season with 12 straight victories. They were upset in the second round of the playoffs by the Queen's Gaels.
  • The Gryphons are one of the lowest-scoring teams in the OUA with just 11 goals, but their defence remains one of the best with seven allowed. Last year they allowed just 30 in 24 games, the best mark in the conference.

Brock
  • The Badgers are still looking for their first win of the year but have come close in each of their last two contests, pushing the Toronto Varsity Blues to a shootout and taking a point off the nationally-ranked Guelph Gryphons in a 3-2 overtime loss.
  • Brock's game on Sunday afternoon is their fourth straight on the road. They will finally return to home ice next weekend, where they will play four in a row and six of eight.
  • The Badgers have scored just six goals in four games, tied for the lowest mark in the OUA.
