Last Meetings
Both the Lions and Varsity Blues won one of the two meetings last year. The Blues won the first by a 5-2 score at Canlan, but the Lions returned the favour by winning 4-2 at U of T in the first game back for both teams in the new year. The two squads also met once in the pre-season, a game that ended with a 3-1 Toronto win.

The Lions split the two-game series with the Rams last year. They won the first meeting 5-2 at Ryerson in the season opener for both teams, and were defeated in the second by a 3-1 score on home ice.

QUICK FACTS

York
• The Lions were off last weekend, and before that earned points in both contests on the previous weekend. They fell to Nipissing in overtime and defeated Laurentian in the extra frame on the road.
• The Lions have already tied last year's win total with six victories on the season, and still have half the season to play.
• The Lions have a goal differential of -3, scoring 30 on the season and allowing 33.
• The Lions are at home this weekend for the first time since Nov. 2. They will wrap up play for the fall semester after Sunday's game and will return to action on home ice on Jan. 17 against Queen's.

Toronto
• The Varsity Blues have earned points in three straight games, with a win over Laurentian and shootout losses to Windsor and Nipissing in that streak. In their only other contest this month they defeated Waterloo 4-2.
• The Blues have taken a step back this year after finishing third in the OUA last season. They lost only six times last year (five in regulation) and already have five combined losses this season.
• The Blues boast one of the stingiest defences in the OUA with just 23 goals allowed, the fourth-lowest mark. Their defence balances a light offence that has tallied just 25 goals, the lowest mark of any team in the top 10.

Ryerson
• The Rams had a four-game winning streak in mid November that was snapped with a pair of losses to Western and Nipissing, but they come into this weekend with another win under their belts, over Laurentian in their most recent contest.
• The Rams have a goal differential of -4, scoring 27 on the season and allowing 31.
•  The Rams finished at the bottom of the OUA standings last year with just five wins, and have already surpassed that total this season, with six.
