Last MeetingsThe Ridgebacks won the first meeting between these two teams by a score of 3-2 in the season opener for both squads in early October. It was their first win over the Lions since February 2014 after the Lions swept the season series last year, winning 2-0 at home and 3-1 on the road.

York- The Lions are coming off their best weekend of the season in which they blanked both Ryerson and Toronto to pick up five of a possible six points in the standings. They cruised to a 4-0 win over the Rams and then posted a 1-0 shootout victory over the No. 2 nationally ranked Varsity Blues on Sunday.
- The Lions have picked up all four of their wins on home ice, including a pair of upsets over nationally-ranked opponents. In addition to the victory over Toronto, they took down then-No. 10 Laurentian earlier this year.
- The Lions are ninth in the OUA with 1.70 goals per game and 10th in goals against with an average of 2.22 per game.
- Friday is the team's last home game of 2015, before the long December break. They will wrap up the fall portion of their schedule against Laurier in Waterloo, Ont., on Sunday night.

UOIT- The Ridgebacks snapped a four-game losing streak in their most recent contest by defeating Windsor 5-3 at home. Prior to the run, they had won three of their first six contests, including a 3-1 win over Laurentian, which was previously ranked in the CIS top 10.
- The Ridgebacks are allowing more goals per game (3.34) than all but one team in the OUA (Windsor). They are also are seventh in conference scoring with 1.91 goals per game.
- Friday's game is the team's last one before the holiday break.
