LIONS WELCOME GEE-GEES AND RAVENS FOR FINAL HOME GAMES

The women's basketball team concludes their home schedule this weekend as they host the Ottawa Gee-Gees and Carleton Ravens.

Last Meetings
 
The Lions and Gee-Gees have yet to meet this season. Last season, the two teams split their meetings with Ottawa winning 69-47 in January and the Lions winning 60-51 in February. The Lions win was their first over the Gee-Gees since January 2008 and it was in front of a packed Tait McKenzie Centre for grad night when York honoured Kayla Pangos, Nadia Qahwash and Llyandra Kerr. 
 
The last time the Ravens and Lions met was last season when they met twice in the span of three weeks with the Ravens prevailing in both games in almost the exact same score. Their first game in January, the Ravens won 62-50 and in February, 61-50.

  • Offensively, they are averaging 57.2 points per game, which is fourth fewest in the OUA and are shooting 36.3% from the field, which is 12th.
  • They are one of the best rebounding teams in the conference averaging 41.9 per game, which is fifth in the OUA and are second in blocks per game with 3.6.

F Courtney Osborne – The only Lion to average double digits in points with 10.4 per game. She is also the team leader with 32.8 minutes, 6.8 rebounds and 2.6 free throws made per game.
 
G Ishanaa Seupersadsingh – Second on the team in scoring with 7.6 points and 29.3 minutes per game. She leads to the team in assists per game with 2.3.
 
Carleton
 
G Stephanie MacDonald – Seventh in the OUA in scoring with 16.0 per game and sixth in steals with 40. 
 
G Kellie Ring – Former National team member is averaging 5.9 rebounds and 2.9 steals per game, which leads the team. She is currently averaging 6.9 points per game.
 
Carleton
 
F Lindsay Shotbolt – Leads the team with 11.6 points per game, which is 20th in the OUA. Also leads the team in rebounding with 9.0 per game, which is the OUA's third highest mark.
 
F Lindsey Suprunchuk – Second on the team in scoring with 10.0 and rebounding with 7.7 per game.
