Several members of the York University Lions track and field team put up impressive results at the 2015 Ontario junior and senior championships in Windsor, Ont., this past weekend.

Nine past, present and future Lions combined to win 10 medals at the provincial meet, led by a trio of gold medals.

Reigning York female athlete of the year
Brittany Crew (East York, Ont.) struck gold in the shot put with a distance of
15.48m. It was one of two medals she won on the weekend, as she added a bronze in the discus with a throw of 41.26m. She also just missed out on her third medal by finishing fourth in the hammer with a distance of 46.42m.

Chris Preece (Cookstown, Ont.) won the gold medal in the hammer throw with a personal best distance of 59.14m, and he was joined on the podium by Lions teammate
Anojan Sivalingam (Scarborough, Ont.), who picked up the bronze with a distance of 44.67m.

Rounding out the gold medals was
Xavier Jehovah (Toronto), who reached the top of the podium in the junior 110m hurdles with a time of 14.51.

A quartet of Lions alumni also won medals at the meet this past weekend.
Dontae Richards-Kwok (Mississauga, Ont.) won the silver medal in the 100m with a time of 10.34,
Eric Brathwaite (Brampton, Ont.) finished second in the shot put with a distance of 16.75m,
Tameran Defreitas (Barrie, Ont.) won silver in the 200m in a time of 24.08 and
Ingvar Moseley (Pickering, Ont.) picked up the bronze medal in the 110m hurdles in a time of 14.11.

The final medal of the weekend came courtesy of incoming recruit
Jonathan Raspanti. He won the bronze in the junior discus competition with a distance of 43.13m and also just missed the podium in the shot put, finishing fifth at 12.84m.

Holly Pitters (Mississauga, Ont.) with a fourth-place result in the long jump (5.68m) and
Bismark Boateng (Brampton, Ont.) with a sixth-place finish in the 100m (10.60).
