The York University Lions women's basketball team will look to continue its winning ways this weekend when the squad welcomes the Laurentian Voyageurs and Nipissing Lakers to the Tait McKenzie Centre.

Last Meetings
The Voyageurs narrowly defeated the Lions 61-59 in their lone meeting last year, picking up their second straight victory between the two teams. Prior to those two contests the Lions had won eight straight meetings dating back to the start of the 2010-11 season.
The Lions have only faced the Lakers twice in program history after Nipissing joined the OUA in 2014. They won the first meeting in convincing fashion by a score of 54-33 but the Lakers took the victory last season 53-46. This weekend's match-up is their only one of the regular season.

- The Voyageurs are near the bottom in both offence and defence this season. They are tied for 13th in points allowed (68.5) and are also 13th in points scored (56.0).
- As part of their weekend schedule, Laurentian will also travel to Kingston, Ont., on Saturday to face the undefeated and No. 4 Queen's Gaels.
Nipissing
- The Lakers are tied for the fewest wins in the OUA so far this season with just one, which came on the final weekend of the 2016 portion of the campaign over the Warriors. They have since lost six in a row, including their lone game last weekend to Laurentian.
- The Lakers are at the bottom of the OUA in both points scored and points allowed this season. They are scoring only 47.1 points per game and are allowing 75.9.
- Prior to coming to York on Saturday, the Lakers will be in Kingston, Ont., for a tough match-up against the nationally-ranked Gaels.

Katrina Collins-Samuels – York's reigning female athlete of the week after leading the Lions in points, assists and steals in their win over the Badgers. She is third in team scoring with 8.3 points per game and is also the team leader in assists per game (1.4) and steals per game (1.8).

Shauney Fischer – The fifth-year forward is enjoying the best year of her career with 9.3 points and 6.8 rebounds per game, both career highs. She is leading the team in both categories.
Laurentian
G Emily Tinnes – Leads the Voyageurs and ranks 30
th in the OUA with 10.6 points per game, the best mark of her career to date.
F L'Ashante Henry – The team's leading rebounder with 6.0 per game. She is also second on the Voyageurs in scoring with 8.8 points per game.
