Mikeisha Bobb won the gold medal in the women's 60m hurdles at the Sharon Anderson Memorial meet at the University of Toronto, one of 10 medals won by the York University Lions track and field team on Saturday.

Bobb, a fourth-year runner from London, Ont., ran 8.91 seconds in the final to cross the finish line in first place. She also ran a time of 8.83 seconds in the preliminaries. Teammate
Meira Dholakia (Richmond Hill, Ont.) joined Bobb on the podium in the event, winning the bronze medal in a time of 9.79 seconds.

The women's team won two more medals, with
Bailey Francis (Halifax) picking up silver in the triple jump with a distance of 10.77m and
Stella Isaac (Toronto) grabbing bronze in the long jump with a personal-best distance of 5.18m.

On the men's side,
Demari Grant (Brampton, Ont.) raced to the silver medal in the 60m with a personal-best time of 6.97 seconds, which also qualified him for the OUA championships. Also on the track,
Daniele Orsini (Etobicoke, Ont.) finished in third place in the 300m in a time of 36.89 seconds and
Matt Fouzie (Kingston, Ont.) was second in the 1000m with a time of 2:37.99.

The Lions also won the silver medal in the 4x200m with
Quinn Charles (Toronto),
Mark Hutchinson (Oro Medonte, Ont.),
Soman Baig and
Puwayi Chinoda (Oshawa, Ont.) combining to put up a time of 1:35.98.

Rounding out the medals were
Nick Mills (Toronto) and
Jonathan Raspanti (Woodbridge, Ont.), who won bronze in the long jump and weight throw, respectively.

The Lions will be back in action again this weekend when they head to Windsor, Ont., for the annual Can Am Classic, which begins on Friday afternoon (Jan. 13) at the St. Denis Centre.
