The York University Lions women's basketball team will play its final home games of the regular season this weekend when the squad welcomes the Ottawa Gee-Gees and Carleton Ravens to the Tait McKenzie Centre.

The Gee-Gees have won each of the last two match-ups with the Lions, including last year by a score of 82-52 on their home court. The last victory by the Lions came in 2014, when they posted a big 60-51 in their senior game. The Gee-Gees are also responsible for the Lions' last playoff defeat, a 70-46 result that same year.
The Ravens have won 12 straight meetings with the Lions dating back to the 2008-09 season, when the Lions last were victorious by a score of 59-58. Carleton's most recent win last year was by a score of 70-58 on their home court in Ottawa.

- The last time the Lions were at home they were capping off a season-high three-game winning streak with wins over Laurentian and Nipissing. - Regardless of the results in their last three games, the Lions have already assured themselves of a better season than last year with five victories.

- The Gee-Gees had won six of seven games before a pair of losses in their last two contests to Windsor and Carleton, which are both nationally-ranked. They were defeated 63-47 by the Lancers and 57-44 by the Ravens.
- The Gee-Gees have a stingy defence like their counterparts from the nation's capital, ranking second in the OUA with 53.9 points allowed per game. They are also 10th with 60.6 points scored per game.
- The Gee-Gees have a tough end to their schedule with two games against nationally-ranked teams – Queen's and Ryerson – and a date with Toronto. They have already clinched a playoff spot and are battling to move into the top four and earn a first-round bye.

Carleton
- The Ravens began the season ranked No. 1 in U SPORTS and then suffered a shocking loss to the Algoma Thunderbirds, who have just two wins overall this season. The Ravens rebounded quickly, however, and have won 14 straight since opening weekend.
- The Ravens have already clinched a playoff spot and are in line for a first-round bye, currently ranking third in RPI.
- The Ravens boast the best defence in the OUA, allowing only 50.7 points per game, more than three points less than any other team. They are also strong offensively with 68.9 points per game, the fifth-best mark.
- Before facing the Lions, the Ravens have a huge game against the undefeated Gaels on Friday night. They will wrap up the regular season next weekend against Ryerson and Toronto.
