Only two games into the season, this will be the first meeting between the Lions and their two opponents this weekend.
 
The Ridgebacks swept the season series against the Lions last year, meeting at the same point of the season a year ago winning 2-1 and taking the game at Canlan 4-1. Avery Reeves and Taylor Davison accounted for the Lions goals.
 
Contrary to the Ridgebacks, the Queen's Gaels have a win to their record despite falling to the Blues 4-1, they bounced back with a 2-1 victory over the Rams. The Lions and Gaels defended home ice, splitting their season series 1-1 following a 1-0 loss to York on the road, only for Queen's to bounce back with 4-1 triumph at home.

• The Lions are coming off a 5-3 season opening loss to then No. 9 nationally ranked Western Mustangs but ended the weekend on a high note with a 3-0 shutout against the Windsor Lancers.

• The Ridgebacks are second in the OUA in saves, having stopped 61 shots in two games, only one save back from OUA leaders Brock.
• After facing the Lions on Friday, Ontario Tech will make the trip to St. Catharines, Ont., to face off against the Brock Badgers.

 
Queen's

• Contrary to the Ridgebacks, the Queen's Gaels have a win to their record despite falling to the Blues 4-1, they bounced back with a 2-1 victory over the Rams.
• Looking to repeat last year's success, the Gaels hold the same record they did a year ago at this stage of the season. In 2018, they followed up this weekend with a five-game win streak.
• Before making the trip to Canlan, the Gaels will head to St. Catharines, Ont., to take on the Brock Badgers.
