The York University Lions cross country teams competed at the OUA championships in Hamilton, Ont., Saturday morning where the women finished 10
th overall as a team.

The top 10 finish for the women's team is their first since 2010 when the women replicated today's result with a 10
th place finish.

First-year runner
Carmen Krawczynski Gonzalez was the first Lion to finish the race yet again, placing 39
th overall running 31:26. Her top 40 finish is the first for the Lions in nine years – the last runner to finish that strong was Dale Findlay who placed 26
th in 2010.

Placing 60
th overall was
Meaghan Evon who ran 33:24, dropping her personal best by 10 seconds from two weeks ago.
Rebecca Wheeler and
Anna Prouzou finished a second apart, Wheeler ran 33:42 while Prouzou crossed the line in 33:43, placing them 64
th and 65
th, respectively.

Rounding out the women's team was
Patricia Rasowski who finished 82
nd running 36:08 for the 8km race.

On the men's side, veteran
Ali Ghadghoni led the charge for the third straight year. He completed the 10km course in 36:02 placing him 68
th overall. Rookie
Chris Basso finished 78
th running 37:12.
