This is the first matchup of the regular season between the cross-town rival Lions and Rams. The two squads went 1-1 against each other in the pre-season and also split the season series last year, with Rams winning 7-2 in their first matchup and the Lions paying them back with a 3-2 win in their second game.
Â
The Lions lost 1-0 on the road in the second game of the 2018-19 season against Queen's. The Lions outshot the Gaels in that game but goaltender Makenzy Arsenault held strong and picked up the shutout. The Lions last win against the Gaels came in the 2015-16 when they beat them at home 2-1 in overtime.
