The York University Lions men's and women's track and field teams split three ways this weekend: the Hillsdale Wide-Track Classic in Michigan, the University of Akron College Invitational in Ohio, and the Windsor Team Challenge in Windsor, Ont.

Middle distance sprinter Levar Russell had a phenomenal weekend as he set a new fieldhouse record in the 600m at Hillsdale College with a personal best time of 1:20.26, which moves him to the ninth position on York's all-time list and also moves him up in the U SPORTS rankings.

Samuel Adams finished the weekend hitting the U SPORTS auto-qualification standard with a season's best jump of 5.02m, tying for the second highest jump in the nation with teammate Daniel Gleason who took the gold medal at the University of Akron Invitational.

Jumper Olivia Henry collected more medals this weekend as she crossed the border and collected two more pieces of hardware for the Lions. She took the gold in long jump with a jump of 5.42m and bronze in triple with a jump of 11.36m.

Natasha Russell, who also competed at Hillsdale, finished the 60m hurdles with the silver medal and a season's best time of 8.74.

The women's 4x400m, composed of Nicolette Witherspoon, Marvelous Agbonwaneten, Simone Da Silva and Zakiya Tavernier crossed the finish line ahead of the pack by almost 10 seconds, taking the gold medal in Hillsdale.

Tavernier also competed at the Windsor Team Challenge where she took the silver in the 300m with a personal best time of 40.11.

The men's 200m saw three Lions in the finals and all hitting  personal best times, including Zeon Bass who took the silver medal with a time of 22.39.

The men's 4x400m team comprised of Bass, Russell, Jaxon Hume and Mark Hutchinson, left the meet with a bronze and a time of 3:23.75. The men's 4x200m team of Bass, Hutchinson, Tohma Van Bergen and Ugatua Ebikeme competed in Windsor and took the bronze medal with a time of 1:30.43.

Jonathan Raspanti came third in the men's weight throw with a new personal best of 15.79m.
