Last Meeting
The last meeting between these two will bring back unwelcome memories for the Lions. They lost an extremely tight first-round OUA playoff game to the then-nationally ranked Ravens, 67-64. The 10th-seeded Lions had their chances and built a sizeable first-quarter lead, but the experienced Ravens, seeded seventh and winners of back-to-back OUA championships in 2017 and 2018, clawed back and ultimately came out on top.
Â
QUICK FACTS
Â
York
- The Lions are coming off back-to-back convincing wins against the Nipissing Lakers, bringing their record back up to .500 after dropping their first two games of the season to the Ottawa Gee-Gees.
- Cyanna King's 17 points and 17 rebounds in Saturday's 79-55 win over the Lakers was not only enough to earn her York female athlete of the week for the period ending Nov. 21, but it also won her OUA athlete of the week honours.
- York will be aiming for their third straight victory. Â The last time they won three games in a row was in the midst of a five-game win streak that lasted from Nov. 30-Jan. 25, 2019, and included a victory over the No. 8 nationally ranked Brock Badgers.Â
Carleton
- Madison Reid is a name to watch for the Ravens. The last remaining player from the Carleton national championship win in 2017-18, Reid has turned into the most productive point scorer on the team, posting 16.5 points per game to this point.
- The team has not lost a game yet this season, including in their six non-conference games against teams outside of the OUA. They dispatched Concordia 63-62, a team which also played York in a non-conference game and won 88-56.Â
