Who is enrolled in R.O.A.R. and is it mandatory?
One of the strengths of our Pride is diversity and this mandatory training supports our understanding and recognition of equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI). For the 2022-2023 season the OUA require all participating schools commit to furthering our knowledge through mandatory EDI education.
All student-athletes, coaches and staff associated with Varsity athletics are required to participate in R.O.A.R. education.
What is R.O.A.R. and what do I need to do?
R.O.A.R. is a two-part training series made exclusively for our Varsity community. This training is designed to support your understanding and skills related to diversity, equity and inclusion, including anti-racism, anti-oppression and human rights.
R.O.A.R is a two-part series and both components are mandatory:
- An hour-long training module offered through e-class (students) or through Canvas (Coaches and Staff).
- An hour-long interactive facilitated Zoom discussion session.
The deadline to complete both components is December 31, 2022.
