The York University Lions women's hockey team picked up its third victory of the year on Sunday at home over the Brock Badgers, a 3-0 shutout win. Now, the Lions look to win consecutive games for the first time this season.
They'll get a chance to do that this weekend when they face off with the Toronto Varsity Blues, the seventh-best team in the country, on Saturday afternoon in downtown Toronto. The Lions then return home to tangle with the winless Laurier Golden Hawks on Sunday afternoon.
The last meeting with Toronto did not go the Lions way – it was a 3-0 win for U of T on October 29. The last time the Lions and Golden Hawks hooked up, though – that was a different story.
Emma Wedgewood earned her first career win and shutout in her first OUA game in a 4-0 Lions triumph on Oct. 22.

Lions to Watch:
#4 JENN SHAW: First-year forward… Scored two goals in the Lions 3-0 win over Brock on Sunday… Her first was a beauty as she roofed one over the Badgers goaltender… The second was another well-placed shot. If she keeps getting chances like that, she may be poised for a second-half breakout.
#29 EMMA WEDGEWOOD: First-year goaltender… As mentioned, Wedgewood's first career win came against the Laurier Golden Hawks in October… You'd have to think she will start at least one of the back-to-back games… Why not give her the Laurier game to see what she has for an encore against the Hawks?
