LIONS HOST OUA CENTRAL-BEST BADGERS

It doesn't get any easier for the York University Lions women's basketball team.

The club is coming off a split of two games last week. On Wednesday, they defeated the Toronto Varsity Blues on home court 73-55, and then fell to the undefeated Guelph Gryphons on the road by a score of 82-72.

Now, the Lions return home to face another division rival in the name of the Brock Badgers. Brock is leading the OUA Central division with a record of 4-2. The Lions come in 2-4, so this is a big early-season test for York as they look to make up some ground in the division. The Lions may have caught the Badgers at just the right time, however, as they are coming off back-to-back double-digit losses to Waterloo and McMaster.

Players To Watch:

York:

#3 JADA CODRINGTON: Second-year guard… Made her season debut Wednesday against Toronto, scoring eight points… Followed that up with a 13-point performance Saturday in Guelph… Led the Lions in three-point shooting a year ago as a rookie… Will add a much-needed catch-and-shoot element to the Lions perimeter offence.

#21 LAUREN GOLDING: Fifth-year forward… Leads the Lions in points per game (19.0)... That number is also good for fifth in the OUA… Golding also leads York in rebounding, averaging 9.8 boards per game… She is tied for fourth in the conference in that category as well… Has been everything the Lions had hope she would be in her final year of eligibility.

Brock:

#12 MADALYN WIENART: Second-year guard… Is leading the Badgers in points per game (15.8) as a sophomore… Has only taken three three-pointers, and has not hit one yet… Is the only Badger to average double-digit points per game.
