LIONS SHUT OUT BY LANCERS TO FINISH 2022 SCHEDULE

Box Score The Windsor Lancers sent the York University Lions women's hockey team into the break with a shutout loss, dealing them a 4-0 decision on the back of two first period goals, then a repeat performance in the third period to finish the game off.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Lancers opened the scoring near the midway point of the period, with Rylee Hogan grabbing the game's first goal. Assists came from Jessica Gribbon and Aubrey Lefler.
  • Windsor didn't stop there, earning a second goal when Maggi DeWolf-Russ took a feed from Maggie Petersen to extend the Windsor lead.
  • Petersen then registered her second assist on Jaden Cherry's 3-0 goal midway through the third period, before scoring herself into the empty net to seal the victory.
LOOKING AHEAD
 
The Lions now see a month-long break in their schedule before returning to the ice against regional rival Toronto on Friday, Jan. 6, 2023. The game will take place at Varsity Arena with a 7 p.m. puck drop.
