As the York University women's hockey team begins to become a tough out in the OUA East division, they'll try to channel some previous success as they look for their second win of the 2021-22 season against the team they beat for their first win, the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks.

Last Meeting
The Nov. 21 game between York and Ontario Tech resulted in a 2-0 victory for York after losing to the Ridgebacks the night before. The Lions were seeking to break their five-game losing streak with their first win since the start of the season. It wasn't until late in the third period that Caroline Eagles and Julia Cuccia found the back of the net, which gave the Lions their first victory of the season.

• York's last game was a 2-1 overtime loss to No. 2 Toronto, a game full of tension that Toronto tied late in the game and won in overtime after York took an early lead. Blues forward Taylor Trussler wasted no time in striking again in the extra frame, as she sped out on a breakaway lifting the puck past Lions netminder Serena Vilde at 3:40, propelling the Blues to their fifth-straight victory.

• While York is coming off improved play against difficult opponents, Ontario Tech is experiencing similar positive signs to their season after earning a shutout victory over Queen's just before the season pause began.
• The 1-0 win over the Queen's Gaels followed a 3-0 win by the men's program, also at home. Leif Hertz was in goal for the men's game earning his first OUA shutout, making the duo the first goaltenders to earn shutouts for the Ridgebacks on the same day in program history.
