The York University Lions track and field teams were separated for the first time this year, as athletes attended four different meets across Ontario and Michigan this past weekend.
The Lions men's program came into the weekend ranked ninth in the nation. They amassed a trifecta of gold medals, courtesy of Williams Kalu, Tristan Boateng and Jeremy Elliott, who won their triple jump, high jump and weight throw competitions, respectively. Meanwhile, the men's 4x200 relay team also struck gold at Toronto.
Overall, York athletes attained 19 OUA championship standards, 17 personal bests, 10 season bests and nine podium finishes over the four meets at which they competed.
