The York University Lions track and field teams were back in action last Saturday at the Sharon Anderson Memorial Meet, hosted by their downtown foes, the Toronto Varsity Blues.Â
The Lions earned four podium finishes, including a gold medal by current York male athlete of the week, rookie Tristan Boateng, who won the high jump for a second straight meet after topping the charts at the York Holiday Open in November.Â
They also earned victories in the men's 4x200 and 4x400 relays, as well as a second place finish in the women's 600m race courtesy of another rookie, Sophia DiMarino, and the men's triple jump with fellow first-year Jason Ilunga. In addition, ten Lions qualified for February's OUA championship in Windsor, while four personal bests were also achieved.Â
