The York University Lions women's hockey team hits the ice at Canlan Ice Sports this week for two pivotal OUA home games, starting with the inaugural Elimination of Violence Against Women & Girls Game on Thursday, November 27th, at 3:15 pm.
This event is held in partnership with The Centre for Sexual Violence Response, Support & Education and is part of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence. The Lions are utilizing their platform to raise awareness about gender-based violence and support local survivor resources, like the North York Women's Shelter. On the ice, they face the Carleton Ravens, having already secured a tight 1-0 overtime win against them this season.
The weekend action concludes on Saturday, November 29th, at 7:00 pm, as York hosts the Toronto Varsity Blues. Following a tough 6-1 loss last weekend, the Lions will be hungry to bounce back and prove their capabilities on home ice against their local rivals.
You can get tickets to both games here or stream them both on OUA TV.
