The York University Lions men's hockey team returns to the ice this week to open the winter term with a pair of key matchups. Play is scheduled to start on the road before returning to home ice.

The action kicks off Thursday, Jan. 8, as the Lions travel downtown to face off against the TMU Bold at 6:15 pm. While the Bold have secured two wins over York so far this season, the Lions are aiming to shift the narrative and open the new year with a fresh performance. As the Bold have been a powerhouse in the OUA West, a victory on their ice would be a major statement regarding what this Lions squad is capable of in 2026.

The weekend continues at home on Saturday night as the Lions host the Waterloo Warriors at 7:00 pm. Their early-season meeting ended in a narrow 4-3 loss for York; now, playing in front of a home crowd, the Lions will be hungry to settle the score and reclaim momentum against their divisional rivals.
