The York Lions Women's Rugby team will look to build on an impressive win over the Trent Excalibur last week. The Lions played easily their best game of the season on senior night, putting up 52 points on their way to a 52-27 victory, their first victory of the season. 

Mistura Are was a force to be reckoned with as she racked up four tries for the Lions. Are's effort was even recognized throughout the conference as she was named one of the OUA's Athletes of the Week for the week of September 27th.  

York now finds themselves on the road traveling to Waterloo for a Sunday afternoon match against the Waterloo Warriors. The Warriors have had a solid season so far finding themselves at 2-2 through four games. The Warriors also played the Excalibur earlier this year, defeating them by a score of 25-10 compared to York's 52-27. 

Prior to senior night, the offense had been a struggle for the Lions. Scoring 52 must have felt good for the squad and has the potential to really kickstart the Lions scoring going forward. With a win over the Warriors, the Lions would also pass the Warriors in the standings and claim seventh place in the OUA ahead of their regular season finale against Guelph. 

The game is scheduled for Sunday, October 4th with a start time of 1 PM EST.
