The York Lions are set to defend their home turf this weekend, Feb. 20–21, as they host the OUA Track & Field Championship at the Toronto Track and Field Centre. After finishing fifth for the men and eighth for the women in 2025, York is primed for a podium push on home soil. The team has already shattered several school records this season while maintaining a strong presence in the national rankings. Now, they look to show the province the results of their hard work.
Leading the charge is fifth-year Ella Foster. As a cornerstone of the women's squad, Foster has improved her provincial ranking every year of her career. After capturing bronze in 2025, the pole vault specialist will be looking towards another high result.
On the men's side, sophomore sensation Tristan Boateng has emerged as a national phenom. Boateng recently shattered the York high jump record with a 2.18m leap, ranking him #1 in U SPORTS. After narrowly missing the podium with a fourth-place finish last year, the record-breaker enters the weekend as a favourite.
