Last Meetings
The Gee-Gees have had the Lions number in recent years, winning nine straight meetings between the two teams. York's last victory came in 2011, when they earned a 73-68 win in Ottawa after erasing a 14-point lead by the Gee-Gees in the fourth quarter.

Since the start of the 2009-10 campaign, the Ravens have lost just eight times in the regular season but one of those defeats came against the Lions. That year, while ranked No. 1 in the CIS, the Lions shocked the Ravens at Tait to win 80-74 and hand Carleton one of only two losses they had that year. The Ravens have since won 10 in a row.

QUICK FACTS

York
  • The Lions will be in tough to try and snap a five-game losing streak after being defeated by Ryerson and Toronto last weekend. York's last win was a big one as they knocked off the No. 10 nationally-ranked McMaster Marauders on the road.
  • The Lions have improved defensively as the season has gone on and currently sit eighth in the OUA with 76.3 points allowed per game. They are also 15th in scoring with 68.3 points scored per game.
  • The Lions will wrap up the regular season next weekend when they travel to Kingston, Ont., to face the Queen's Gaels.

Ottawa
  • The Gee-Gees' only two losses this season have come against the Ravens, including in their most recent contest last week. Thanks to their dominance otherwise, they are ranked second in RPI and in line for a first-round bye in the playoffs.
  • The Gee-Gees knocked off their city rivals in the 2014 OUA final to win their second championship in program history, but otherwise they have had to settle for silver or bronze behind the Ravens on several occasions.
  • The Gee-Gees have been strong offensively and defensively this season. They rank second in the OUA in points allowed (62.9 per game) and third in points scored (79.4).
  • Following their game against the Lions, the Gee-Gees will head out to Kingston, Ont., to face the Queen's Gaels to close out their weekend schedule. They wrap up the regular-season next weekend against Toronto and Ryerson.

Carleton
  • The Ravens have won every game by double-digits this season, with their 74-61 victory over Ottawa last week representing their closest battle. They sit atop the RPI standings and are almost assured of a first-round bye when the playoffs begin.
  • In the last 15 years the Ravens have displayed a level of consistent dominance not seen in U SPORTS basketball before. They have won 12 titles in 14 seasons, including six in a row. They have also won nine OUA banners in that stretch.
  • The Ravens boast the best offence and the stingiest defence in the OUA this season and have dominated opponents in both categories. Their 60.1 points allowed per game are nearly three less than any other team, while their scoring average of 90.6 points is more than 10 points better than all but one other team in the conference.
  • The Ravens will face the Gaels in Kingston, Ont., on Friday night before visiting the Lions at Tait. They wrap up the regular-season next weekend against Ryerson and Toronto.
