LIONS PREPARE FOR TOUGH TEST VS. THUNDERWOLVES

The York University Lions men's basketball team is looking for a bounce back after two lopsided losses last weekend to Laurier and Brock. Unfortunately for them, they're looking for it against one of the hottest teams in the province, the Lakehead Thunderwolves.

Lakehead is 11-3 and tied for third in the OUA overall standings with the aforementioned Brock Badgers, both of whom are tied for the OUA Central Division lead. The Lions, with a couple of upset victories, could put themselves back into the playoff pool in the OUA. They currently sit 14th, four points behind Guelph for the 12th and final postseason berth.

Players to Watch

York:
#0 PRINCE KAMUNGA: Fifth-year forward… One of those players you can include in this segment every week… Is the heart and soul of this Lions team… Ranks second on the team in points, second in blocks, and tops in rebounds per game… Kamunga will need two more big performances this weekend if the Lions are going to pull off a win or two.

Lakehead:
#6 MICHAEL OKAFOR: Fifth-year forward… Leads Lakehead in points at just over 15 per game… Also ranks second on the squad in rebounds per game (5.5)... He along with Dylan Morrison and Laoui Msambya will be three players the Lions will need to keep under wraps if they want to have any chance at winning these games.
