After winning a silver medal in his first time on the national stage, York University Lions sprinter Tamarri Lindo one-upped himself this time around.

The Toronto, Ont., native, who was named one of eight recipients of the U SPORTS Athletes on Track bursary earlier this year, took home the men's 60m hurdle silver medal at this year's U SPORTS track & field championships in Windsor, earning him a second team all-Canadian designation.

After winning the preliminary race, Lindo won York's only medal at the championships, finishing second in the race with a time of 7.86 seconds, which was, in fact, 0.04 seconds better than the 7.90 second sprint that won the prelim. He lost out on the gold medal by just two one-hundredths of a second to Gregory Michel of the Sherbrooke Vert et Or.

The silver medal and second team all-Canadian honour come on the heels of a 60m hurdle gold medal and, with it, a first team all-star nomination at the OUA championships. Lindo caps off his season with a personal best of 7.94, which is second in the country and fourth on York's all time men's 60m hurdle list. Additionally, the two-time U SPORTS medalist holds four of the top five race times in the country and owns the Carleton Last Chance Meet 60m hurdle record with an 8.12.
