The York University Lions men's basketball team is set to host two games at home this weekend at the Tait McKenzie Centre.

The action begins Friday at 8:00 pm against the visiting Carleton Ravens, followed by a Saturday night showdown with the Ottawa Gee-Gees at 8:00 pm. After falling short on the road against both teams last season, the Lions are viewing this weekend as a prime opportunity for a fresh slate. York is ready to harness the energy of the home fans and turn the tide in these critical matchups.

This weekend also marks York's participation in the 19th edition of Shoot for the Cure, the national U SPORTS breast cancer fundraising campaign. From January 21 to February 1, university programs across the country are uniting to reach a $100,000 goal for the Canadian Cancer Society.

The initiative has a storied history of impact; since 2007, it has raised over $2 million for breast cancer research and awareness. Fans attending the men's games this weekend are encouraged to join the movement. You can support the Lions' fundraising efforts by donating online through the official team page
