The York University Lions men's basketball team returns to the court this weekend, looking to capture some momentum and secure a pair of much-needed wins. It will be a challenging stretch for the Lions as they prepare for a double-header against two of the province's strongest teams.
On Friday evening, the Lions travel downtown to face a formidable Toronto Varsity Blues squad at 8:00 pm. York will be hungry for a comeback after falling 92-78 in their first meeting this season.
The action continues Saturday evening as the Lions return home to host the TMU Bold at 8:00 pm. Seeking redemption after an 87-61 loss earlier this year, York will need a clinical performance to overcome another high-ranking OUA opponent. A crucial factor for the Lions will be Jeremiah Kwarteng, who currently ranks fifth in the conference with 21 steals and will be vital in slowing down these powerhouse offenses.
