The York University Lions women's rugby team will look to get back on track this weekend when they take on the Western Mustangs on Saturday afternoon in London. The Lions found themselves 0-1 so far on the season after a season-opening loss to the Queen's Gaels. Western on the other hand finds themselves 1-0 after their opening game victory over Waterloo.

Western enters the game 1-0 after they shut out the Waterloo Warriors in their season opener. The Mustangs would end up defeating the Warriors by a significant margin, with a final score of 56-0.

This will be the first matchup between these two teams since the 2024 season. Western ended that game as the victors, a game the Mustangs won on their home pitch. York will try to avenge that loss and earn their first victory of the season to get to 1-1 on the year while building some positive momentum going forward.

The game is set to kick off at 1:00 p.m from Western Alumni Field.
