Despite a tight first half, the York University Lions men's basketball team dropped a 95-72 contest to the McMaster Marauders Saturday night at the Tait McKenzie Centre.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The second quarter saw a lot of back-and-forth action as both sides searched for a decisive lead. In spite of numerous lead changes, the Marauders were able to cap off the quarter with a 48-37 advantage over the Lions at halftime.
  • Following their return to the court, the Lions go off on a 9-4 run to trim the margin to 59-54 off a Quintin Herbert three-pointer. However, the Marauders once again regained their momentum and wrapped the third on a 15-6 surge to take a 74-60 edge.
  • McMaster continued to build off their 14-point advantage, as they went on to outshoot the Lions 21-12 in the final frame en route to a 95-72 victory.
