York University Lions men's swimmer Eric Ginzburg earned more major honours at the 2026 OUA swimming championships. Ginzburg was named the OUA Men's Swimmer of the Year, received the OUA Award of Distinction, and, by virtue of winning three gold medals, earned an OUA all-star nomination by winning.

The fourth-year butterfly and freestyle specialist secured four medals at the event, including three golds. By medaling in his third career OUA championship, Ginzburg earned the Award of Distinction; furthermore, his dominant individual performances led to his selection as the conference's Men's Swimmer of the Year for the second time in three years.

Ginzburg captured gold in the 50m fly, 100m fly, and 100m freestyle events. Notably, he bested his own meet record in the 100m fly by nearly two-tenths of a second, finishing in 50.22 seconds to surpass his 2025 mark of 50.41. With an additional silver medal in the 50m freestyle, Ginzburg brought his career OUA championship medal count to 15 with eight golds, six silvers, and one bronze.

Ginzburg will look to build upon his U SPORTS medal total, which currently sits at four after he swept his events at last year's national meet, when he heads to the Markham Pan-Am Centre for the 2026 version of the event, which will take place from March 12–14.
