York University

Joan (Featherstonhaugh) Huzar attended York University from 1964 to 1968, during which time she was a member of the synchronized swim team for three years, the swim team for two years and the field hockey team for one year. In 1967-68, she won three gold medals at the OQWIAA synchronized swim championship and also won a silver medal in duet (with Wendy Barron) at the Canadian University Games held in Edmonton in 1967 as part of the Centennial event, 2nd Century Week. Huzar received the Escot Reid Athlete of the Year Award in 1967.
