Merv Mosher was head coach of York's women's volleyball team from 1979 to 1997. The team qualified for the OWIAA championship in each of his 18 years as head coach, capturing 13 OWIAA championships and five CIAU bronze medals. A 10-time OWIAA coach of the year and CIAU coach of the year in 1984-85, he amassed an incredible coaching record of 192 wins and 17 losses. Mosher also coached at the provincial, national and international levels, including the Olympic Games (1984) and the World University Games (1983, 1985, 1987, 1991). Mosher obtained a BRE from the University of British Columbia in 1976 and a York MA (Physical Education) in 1982.
