Between 1981 and 1985, sprinter Molly Killingbeck won six gold and two silver medals at the CIAU national championships and was twice named York's female athlete of the year. A four-time national champion, Killingbeck represented Canada internationally on several occasions, highlighted by a silver-medal performance at the 1984 Olympics as a member of the 4 x 400m relay team. A former coach for York's interuniversity track and field program, she also helped coach the men's 4 x 100m relay team that won gold at the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta and was a member of the Toronto 2008 Olympic Bid.
