Tom Zivic established one of the most impressive coaching records of any university coach in Canada and contributed immensely to gymnastics at the local, provincial, national and international levels. A graduate of the University of Belgrade and the State University of New York, he came to York in 1968 as instructor and head gymnastics coach in the Department of Physical Education and Athletics.
