John Christensen was a member of the Yeomen basketball team from 1980 to 1985. During that time, York dominated the OUAA, winning four championships and advancing to two CIAU championships. A four-time OUAA all-star (1982-85) and a CIAU all-Canadian in 1984-85, Christensen is York's career leader in rebounds (577) and field goal percentage (57.5). He is also fifth in career points per game (16.1). During the 1984-85 season, Christensen was named the East Division's most valuable player (MVP) as well as the MVP of the Wilson Cup OUAA Final. He earned a BA in psychology in 1984.
