York's male athlete of the year in 1989, Sean Foudy was a member of both the track and field and football teams from 1986-91. During this time, the men's track and field squad captured CIAU silver and bronze medals, while Foudy won four individual CIAU medals and several individual OUAA medals. In 1989, he was the CIAU champion in the 60m hurdles and MVP of York's track and field and football teams. He also competed in the 110m hurdles as a member of the Canadian national track and field team. As a football player, Foudy was a second-team OUAA all-star in 1988 and a third- round draft pick of the Ottawa Rough Riders in the 1989 CFL College Draft. He played six seasons in the CFL, winning a Grey Cup in 1994 with the B.C. Lions.
